Position Title: QA Reviewer
Department: Quality Assurance
Location: Remote
Reports To: Director of Quality and Compliance/QA Lead
Position Overview:
The QA Reviewer is responsible for performing detailed reviews of OASIS assessments and 485 forms for completeness and accuracy, ensuring proper coding using the ICD-10 classification system, following internal team review. The role involves abstraction of patient records in line with coding requirements, identifying inaccuracies in coding and OASIS documentation, and making recommendations for changes to maintain compliance with federal and state regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Review outputs from internal team members using both Live and Retro QA options within the Olli platform.
Conduct internal QA checks for team members, identify trends, and report findings to the of Director of Quality and Compliance/QA Lead.
Compare chart documentation with OASIS documentation to ensure adherence to all regulations.
Complete comprehensive reviews of the Plan of Care, providing recommendations to clients.
Review admissions, discharges, resumptions, and recertifications as required.
Provide detailed instructions and corrections necessary for maintaining compliance with current best practices and regulations related to home healthcare and OASIS documentation.
Stay updated with new coding regulations, ICD-10 updates, and OASIS standards.
Participate in weekly QA Team meetings, platform testing, and other collaborative activities as needed.
Complete Retro QA, Live QA and Priority Charts as assigned by supervisor
Fully Ramped productivity will be 8-10 cases per day, depending on level of review
In addition to QA duties, QA reviewers will also be responsible for completing priority charts as requests come in throughout shifts from clients.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Proven experience in QA reviews, home healthcare, or medical coding.
Strong knowledge of ICD-10 coding and OASIS documentation.
Ability to identify errors, trends, and recommend changes to improve documentation and coding.
Attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently.
Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and clients.
Knowledge of federal and state regulations related to home healthcare.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification in Home Health Coding (HCS-D, BCHH-C)
Certification in OASIS review (COS-C, HCS-O, COQS)
Experience in home healthcare or healthcare documentation review. Minimum 2-5 years to include Coding, OASIS and Plan of Care
