The Role

We’re looking for a Lead Automation Engineer to pioneer the use of agentic AI, orchestrated automation frameworks, and RPA in healthcare. You’ll lead efforts to build intelligent workflows that get data in and out of EHR systems at scale, creating orchestrations that blend rule-based RPA with autonomous AI agents capable of reasoning, adapting, and coordinating tasks.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role, where you’ll architect solutions that bring together UiPath, Python, AWS, and agent-based systems to unlock new levels of efficiency and reliability in healthcare operations.

What You’ll Do

• Design and implement agentic automation frameworks that orchestrate multiple AI-driven agents and RPA bots across healthcare workflows

• Build scalable integrations with major Home Health and Hospice EHRs (Homecare Homebase, MatrixCare, WellSky, Epic, etc.)

• Architect orchestrations that coordinate data pipelines, APIs, ETL processes, and intelligent agents to automate complex end-to-end workflows

• Apply modern AI/agentic approaches to handle exceptions, adapt to changing data inputs, and drive continuous improvement

• Partner with product and clinical experts to identify high-value automation use cases (coding, billing, referral management, OASIS, etc.)

• Establish engineering best practices for secure, reliable automation orchestration in regulated environments

• Mentor engineers and help grow the automation team

What We’re Looking For

• 6+ years in automation engineering, intelligent systems, or RPA, ideally in healthcare or post-acute care

• Hands-on experience with agentic AI approaches (autonomous agents, orchestrators, multi-agent systems, LangChain, CrewAI, or similar frameworks)

• Expertise in RPA tools such as UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism, or Microsoft Power Automate

• Strong skills in Python for automation, orchestration logic, and integration pipelines

• Deep experience with AWS cloud services (Lambda, Step Functions, SQS, Glue, etc.) for scalable orchestrations

• Familiarity with EHR/EMR integrations, healthcare data standards (HL7, FHIR, CCD), and interoperability challenges

• Proven ability to design data orchestration pipelines (ETL, APIs, event-driven systems)

• Strong systems thinker who thrives in fast-paced, high-growth startup environments

• Excellent communicator and collaborator
