Olli Health | Senior Full Stack SDE | Remote or NYC
Olli Health is a TechStars NYC ‘24 startup dedicated to modernizing home healthcare with advanced AI tools and we are growing! We’re looking for a creative, low-ego, collaborative, startup-native engineer who is energized by challenging, nuanced problems with the potential to have a massive impact. The Full Stack SDE will be pivotal in shaping our product as we strive to improve home healthcare operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensuring platform security, robustness, and scalability
Designing data pipelines to support ML team on training and analytics
Improving algorithmic efficiency
Meeting with and understanding the needs of both internal users and external customers
Shipping features end-to-end: from design, requirements gathering, to testing and deploying
Build and maintain data pipelines for analytics and ML-ready datasets.
Work with external customers and our internal user-base to identify opportunities for improvement, improve workflows, and directly observe our work in daily use.
Requirements:
Experience with most of our stack: AWS, PostgreSQL, Redis, Python, Pytorch, React, modern LLMs
NLP expertise: Strong NLP fundamentals (NER, embeddings, full-text search) and great intuition for when to use them over newer approaches
Technical Skills: Familiarity with git, task tracking, tests, and producing readable, quality code.
Startup mentality: An enjoyment of that early startup balance between efficiency, scalability, and shipping fast to meet customer needs.
Flexible problem solving: Equally interested in reviewing CS conference papers, benchmarking SOTA algorithms, or implementing novel approaches – and wise enough to know which approach is most likely to be the highest leverage in the current context.
Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the US (no visa sponsorship available).
Desirable Skills (Bonuses):
Proven success in the Seed/Series A stage fast-paced startups
An appreciation for the challenges of building with LLMs (healthy skepticism a must)
Experience working with healthcare datasets (e.g. payer claims data, clinical notes, EHR charts, ICD-10 coding, etc.)
Experience building secure systems with HIPAA compliance as a core principle
What We Offer:
This is a key early engineering FTE role with equity vesting options
A chance to be at the forefront of healthtech innovation, and use emerging AI & ML capabilities towards positive impact (ie, improve the lives of real clinicians and real on-the-ground health providers)
Great colleagues working on a challenging problem for meaningful customers (older adults)
A collaborative and inclusive work environment that prioritizes debate, and ethical decision-making, and is allergic to inflated egos
Flexible remote-first work environment with travel to quarterly team onsite meetings
Some preference will be given to candidates based in NYC who can meet up with a local engineering team more frequently
Opportunities for professional growth and leadership
Compensation Range: $165,000 - $185,000 annual FTE base comp + equity options
Benefits:
100% Health, vision, dental, life, short-term, and long-term disability insurance paid by Olli Health
Unlimited PTO
401K plan and FSA
